Before Mr. Feathers went on Vacation, I asked him about his PRR Caboose and if I was able to take a few pictures of it. He gave me the OK but that didn't last long. Between what I was obligated to do that day and the storms that arrived minutes later, I only got one good shot of the Caboose. A little bit of History: Caboose 478064 was built in May of 1951. If anyone knows the location it was built at, It'd be appreciated. Anyways, It served a long and healthy life on PRR, PC and Conrail. In 1995, Ed Feathers bought the Caboose for his personal collection. His goal was to make it look like it originally did on the Pennsy. He accomplished that goal in 2001 and began using it on the W&W Railroad for Caboose charters/parties. In 2006, He took it back out of service. Today, he is making progress to get the caboose back into regular service. It's looking a little rough today but that can be fixed with a little TLC.

I remember when it arrived and Ed giving several of us the "grand tour" after he had cleaned up the interior some .... even as it looks today, its not nearly as bad as when it first arrived. He did a lot of work to it. The good thing with the building of the new office, is that they've cleared many of those tall pines that completely shaded 1 track and caused much moisture build up on anything sitting on that track.... not to mention, pine sap. |

Christian - Nice looking boxcar (CR # 261133) coupled to PRR 478064. I looked on the W&W website and couldn't find any information on their freight cars. Any idea as to the box cars heritage? Les |
