Post subject:  C Liner Questions
Were B-B and B-A1A the same length? If yes, so it was just about weight, not about space?

Were there any boiler-equipped B-B's?

Were there B-A1A B-units or just A's?

Were B's also the same length?

Only one survives, correct?

Only six in Canada, Canadian National 6800-6805.

Two: CP 4104, originally in the hands of the Alberta Pioneer Railway Association, is now in private hands in Nelson, B.C. along with a F-M H16-66 decked out in CP colors but not a CP vintage loco: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/r ... 15,2931269

CP 4065, formerly retained as part of CP's "heritage" shash in Alberta, is now part of the Canadian Museum of Science & Technology, last I knew.

There are several reports that two others survive in Alberta (see http://www.trainweb.org/rosters/BCOL.html ), but no confirmation yet.

10 CPA16-4 A's and 8 CPB16-4 B's all ended up on CP ( 2 of these A's were built as CLC/FM demo units)

Per John F Kirkland's book "The Diesel Builders" (Interurban Press, 1985), all C Liners, A or B, 4 or 5 axle, were 56'6.5" long.
