Former Great Western Sugar Co. 0-4-0T No. 17 has been moved from Fort Morgan, Colo., to the Farm and Ranch Museum in Gering, Nebraska, the Great Plains Chapter, NRHS reports. The city of Fort Morgan, which had considered scrapping or giving away the engine because of liability concerns at its display location at the Fort Morgan Public Library location, donated it to the museum. It is one of three ex-Great Western tank engines that had been on display in Fort Morgan.

The Davenport Locomotive Works built No. 17 in April 1923 for the H.D. Conkey & Co. of Mendota, Ill. In 1932 it was sold to Great Western Sugar for use at Brighton, Colo. The locomotive was moved to Fort Morgan in 1977 and donated to the city in 1984.
