Very interesting engine- thanks for posting, although it might be a candidate for "Railfanning".

Sounds like her rods would really like some bushing work next time she's in the shop.

Those appear to be very nice cars, with a nice "Orient Express" feel, at least to the ones near the end of the consist where you could see the interior.

Who's coaches are those? Who maintains them?

Here is an image of another of the same class.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 3637_n.jpg

This is 34051 "Winston Churchill" the loco that hauled the funeral train for the man of the same name. It has been kept "as is" unrestored from that day in 1965. kept for most of that time in the National Railway Museum at York.

The image though is taken at a place called Ropley where locos are restored so all of that looks about to change.

They would be one of West Coast Railways railtour sets. In the UK we usually have 3 classes of travel for excursions, standard, first and premier dining and priced accordingly such as here at the bottom of the page:-

West Coast Railway Co is based at Carnforth in Lancashire and there is some info on what they do here:-

And some info on coaching stock here, West Coast links part way down and also a list of the support coaches that are used with specific locos over here:-

'k, I'll stick future vids in railfanning.

Oh and Tangmere has always been "clanky" at low speeds, even after rebuilds, but its ok the noise disappears at 60mph and above! ;)

Wondering how many US steam crews can make that observation?

"Once she hits 60, things smooth out..."

I know a few get there, but dang few.

There is a plan here in the uk to run a few steam excursions this year with speeds up to 90mph approved, currently they are limited to 75.

edit, they are allowed a +/- 10% margin of speed error, therefore rumour has it three figures may be achieved.
