I was just up in BC for a couple of weeks. I visited the West Coast Heritage Railway Museum.
It was a treat, their new station/ visitor center was doing a lot for them.

The Hudson is in a central location. They did not have the side rods etc in place yet, but soon. The
volunteers say that the engine will only be on display for the summer before it goes to another location for restoration to steam.

The museum's wooden "British Columbia" business car was a treat. So many museums have old cars that had been in work trains; it was great to see one really reatored. It is beautiful!

You are right, this car is pretty neat inside and out. I shot a bit of video as we toured the car in 1996. They have a nice collection of stuff up there from a Wedge Plow to old F-units, and now the Hudson.

I feel fortunate to have shot the 3716 and 2860 on the same day during that visit. I really enjoyed hearing the original CPR "button whistle" on the Hudson. It will be missed. Speaking of that what sort of whistle is on the 2816.
