I've been at the RR Museum of New England about a month. This morning the mid-morning sun was bright. The Shops Yard was somewhat empty because the "train" was doing what it should on a Sunday. LVC 126 was here so the Shops were quite. Something too red to my right. Attachment: CV4014-130609 RMNE, Thomaston, CT low.JPG [ 162.59 KiB | Viewed 8042 times ] Howard, please fill in the gaps. |

That's a beautiful standard wooden caboose of CNR design. There is a a drawing of it on the Canadian National Historical Association website. Grand Trunk ran that design as well, with several examples preserved at Conway Scenic. Classic line, expert carpentry. Nice picture, too. |

Search this site for "EPDM Roof on CV Caboose" viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32693&p=169578&hilit=Central+Vermont+4014#p169578 CV 4014: pride and joy of Allen B. Pomeroy III. An utterly gorgeous wood caboose (buggy, as they say in New England). Al is a trustee of the CV Historical Society and knows his CV stuff. The paint is actually an orange, properly matched. Since the earlier "finished" photos, Al has repainted the freight car red steps, trucks and underbody with a better matched paint (done in 2012 season). Nice photo, Marty. Sometimes ya have to wait until the yard clears out to get a good shot! Howard P. |

Howard - I've been told that the correct CN system name for that paint color is "Morency Orange". Les |

RYPN's Boomer Volunteer strikes again! Marty, I hope you enjoy your summer in Connecticut. Howard and the crew seem like a great group. I'm sure they appreciate the help. David |

This buggy is certainly a rolling time capsule! The inside is just as great or even better than the outside, in my opinion. I'm sure Al P. wouldn't have any issues with granting access for photos of the interior. Just ask him. |

Up your way, it's a "van". In northern New England (on CV & B&M) they're "buggies". Down here in Connecticut, the "home road" (NYNH&H) called 'em "hacks". Howard P. No Cabin Cars, Conn. |
