For three weekends in June, Lehigh Valley Coal 0-6-0T #126 ("Sadie") is pulling 6 trips each weekend. Some Museums have great facilities. Some have great RoW. In the pictures that's the Naugatuck Railroad in the scenic Naugatuck River Valley of Connecticut. The Museum operates the railroad. Great RoW! Thanks for the great pictures! Didn't realize 126 could pull 3 coaches on that road, and she looks good!

126 barely breaks a sweat handling the 3 heavyweight coaches (140,000 lbs each). Most of the firemen (and one firewoman so far this year) can keep steam right at the peg, with injector on, coming up our .6% grade. A powerful little engine! And a much smoother ride than FC 75!

LVC 126 has been a joy to operate, at least from a fireman's perspective. The ride is indeed a vast improvement over the FC 75, which I fired the previous three years. The Gramlings have changed their injectors from Nathan to Pemberthy, which are a little bit more user friendly. I am told that the cab floor is about four inches higher than originally designed making the firebox door lower than FC 75. I didn't notice a difference. Coal consumption was roughly half a bunker per six mile round trip. Thanks go out to the Gramling family once again for another great visit to the Railroad Museum of New England and the Naugatuck Railroad! Everyone smiles when the Gramlings come to town!
