Frank - Congrats to the guys at IRM for pulling off quite a coup for the museums 60th Anniversary. Is there some place on the IRM website (or elsewhere) listing the 60 pieces that were used for the celebration? BTW, is a similar parade for the 65th already in the planning stages? Les |

Frank, impressive display, IRM is to be congratulated for its accomplishments. One question, is CA&E 36 actually back to the point where it will run under power? I was always impressed with how this car was abused in Cleveland and how all the pieces were found and the work required to get it operational again. |

Randy Hicks, the project manager on the CA&E wood cars has put A LOT of work into the 36 to get it to the point where it could be a mid-train trailer. You were right, Randy had to install all of the DB-15 contractors, some of which were left at a rebuild shop in Cleveland by the car's former owners. He also had to rewire the MU jumpers at one end of the car. The truck was swapped in Cleveland with the CA&E car that is now at CTM in Warehouse Point, and IRM traded it back. In other words, it's getting close to being able to motor itself, but there's more work to do. |
