I'll leave it up to the moderators whether this belongs in "Interchange" or "Railfanning". However, this could be easily interpreted as a "Living History" exhibition. The National Park Service regularly does events like this at it's historic sites. They can generate both revenue and publicity for the hosting organizations, as was the case here

Gary, you are quite correct!

Lerro Productions put on another great show this weekend as usual! Although I did not officially attend this event, I was able to capture the images below on Friday evening using a short telephoto setting from about 500' offsite.

The flames in both stacks were quite real at times as were the charcoal briquets & lighting fluid used to start them. Feel free to verify my claim by checking out the following one minute YouTube Video:

You probably could have gotten even better shots had you signed up and gone in :)

Steve has already proven that to be fact and I've enjoyed seeing what's come out from the weekend so far. That said, a little more background on this end would explain why I did not participate directly even though I was extended a courtesy invitation.

Steve has added some to the "Railfan & Railroad" album also. One of my favorites is the "Rosie the Railroader" shot

My favorite thing about this?

In a few months once the memory of it has died down, the emails that will go around "Looks like 611 is ready to go!"
