Should we be keeping close track of extant pre-F7 F's the way we can rattle off the small list of slant nosed E's (and the one and only E7)? Aside from the one and only FT, is there anything else in this category other than F3's and their "FP10" rebuilds? All cab units are precious at this point but apparently that has not totally sunk in with everyone when a little flood damage on some F7's means it's time to call in the scrappers because one can always buy a couple more F7's. Not true with F3's and probably soon to be true of all F's. Steve |

Hmmmm..... That's a nice looking NS "heritage" streamliner........ Hmmmmmm..... On a different note, I suspect there are some more Fs that will likely go to locomotive heaven in the next 18 months. IF that happens, I'll try to make sure appropriate parts are kept and requests taken. Besides their just nasty old diesels and we need the scrap steel to recycle to support steam work, right? ETA |
