Seems odd that it only has a maximum speed of 30mph, is that a misprint? Should be good for almost twice that. |

So even with some serious needs (like axles) the restoration only took 4 months? Wow. |

Looking at the link provided indicates the loco was designed for "heavy freight" and a 30 MPH design speed would not be unusual for that usage. We should also remember that this is India, not the USA, and design requirements were probably significantly different. The fact that there is a survivor of this class would also indicate that it was a successful design, so the engineers must have gotten it right for the intended use. |

The article doesn't appear to mention anything about boiler work though. |
