I am trying to figure out which ex-Milwaukee Road cars became Habco 212, 213 & 214. Does anyone have any information which may aid in my quest? Based on photos, it appears that car 212 was a 1938 branchline combine, car 213 was a 1938 dining car and car 214 was a 1942 tap-lounge.

Do these cars still exist? I think I read that Habco was merged into another company, but maybe I'm wrong on that. IF Habco #212 is still around, we'd like to add it to the old Milwaukee Road branchline combine thread here on RyPN.

Les,

No idea on whether or not they survive. The photos I have seen show the cars in really rough shape in the late 70's and early 80's. I doubt very much the saw service much longer...Probably got scrapped if Habco went bankrupt.

At risk of mixing up topics, didn't HABCO have some L&N stainless head end cars....
