I've been digging around trying to figure out if there was any basis to that posting about the Chinese QJ going to Las Vegas. I came up with nothing. (which of course does not mean a whole lot, if someone is moving the loco there good for them)

I could not help though to notice the tie up of Rob Mangles with both the Cadiz project in Parker and the ATSF 3463.

Asking questions about this possibility have met with near silence....except for one cryptic e-mail.

"Rob Mangels, a veteran of the steam locomotive industry (is) Senior Manager of the Cadiz Southeastern Railway operation"

Mangels is the perfect fit as project manager on CSR Project 130, having served as the Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers on several short line railroads, completely overhauled steam locomotives from the ground up. One of three Amtrak-certified steam locomotive inspectors in the U.S., Rob Mangels brings over 20 years of hands-on technical, design and operations skills to the CSR team.

The 3463 has now been prepared for movement:

I posted a question on the Facebook page csrail last night asking if the 3463 was going to Parker. This morning the question has been deleted....

Trevor,

Check again my friend. The default mode for most Facebook pages is to show "posts by page only." When you click on "Post by others..." you see your question.

There are other locomotives under consideration for Cadiz.

So when is the move to Minneapolis going to happen? Has the transport been arranged, and if so, how will it be done?

Mr. Ellsworth,

My comments/observations were reasonable. Your cynicism of them is unwarranted in this post and this board.

Take it elsewhere.
