Following discussion among C&TSR Commissioners and between Commissioners and Directors of the Rio Grande Railway Preservation Corp. at a meeting on Monday, July 22, 2002, the Commission has made a decision to issue a Request For Proposals as its process for soliciting and deciding on an operator for the railroad for the 2003 season and beyond. This decision was in response to a notice from the Rio Grande Railway Preservation Corp. that it had elected to terminate its current operating contract with the C&TSR Commission effective October 31, 2002.

Information about the contents of the RFP and the timeline for selection will be announced at a later date.
