No, this isn't the "undecorated" version of the passenger car. Southern Railway No. 1200 is packaged for transport to Washington DC. This shrink-wrap material is typically used on boats and fine automobiles for highway transport.

Yeah. That shrinkwrap should be a tinge more orange. They didn't use the historically accurate shrinkwrap! |

I think the shrinkwrap color on SR 1200 is absolutely correct. We carefully researched the proper color before we wrapped NYNH&H 2312..... And I think we got it spot-on!! Howard P. Plastics, CT |

Why is it being shipped to D.C.? Never mind... found the answer under the "Open House - Southern Railway No. 1200" thread. |

There has been a lot of media in the area all weekend and today. Steve Lee and I have been interviewed a number of times. During our WRC video production interview today Steve and I joked with each other about all of the "mistakes" we made on this project. Well, ya'all have us again......the shrink wrap color is not correct! Though we made many attempts to properly match this color, neither the NS nor the Southern Hysterical Society could get us a perfect match. Rats.....just another mistake made! ha ha! Now on a more serious note; The car will begin the over 500 mile journey to DC tomorrow. We are not allowed to post the routs as per our contract. We will post pictures as we go. If you see us, feel free to post a picture. Hopefully we will get the route correct....would hate to mess that up and end up in Texas. |

John, Where did you get the lettering on the cranes? It's all wrong. |

I'm glad I got to see it yesterday before they shrink wrapped it. Are you sure you used the right shade of black on the bottom? Just kidding. Thank you for taking the time to tell us all about the work you and your group did on the car. Good luck on your way to D.C.!! Hope to see you all again soon. Tony King |
