Help the CRHS restore It's G36L Class Gondola by buying a board and associated hardware! Your tax deductible donation will provide the following to get a floor back in our Gondola:

--1x 2"x10"x9'6" White or Red Oak board
--4x Decking Clips to secure the board to the car
--2x 10' "I" Beam sections to support the board
--Bolts, Nuts and Washers to secure your board to the car
--Transportation of materials to Topton Work Site

This flooring will complete Phase 1 of the car work. To date, volunteers have removed the damaged steel floor, removed 3 damaged side panels, cut and shaped some of the undamaged sections of the old floor to become the new side panels and made minor other repairs. Phase 2 of the restoration, scheduled for fall 2014, will entail repair to grab irons and sill steps, sandblasting and painting. This will complete this restoration project.

Just wanted to give an update..
We just passed the halfway mark on our fundraiser. Last Friday, 3 CRHS volunteers secured 1,350 Lbs of 4"x4" "I" beams to replace the old broken stringers in the gondola. These I beams run the length of the car on either side of the center sill to support the floor. They will be installed in the car as soon as our 21165 caboose paint job is complete and we can move the car inside. (although if there are projects that come up ahead of it, we may have to put it off until later...)

The steel (and eventually the deck boards) is stored inside a secure place until they'll be made ready for installation.
