As a personal hobby, I enjoy keeping a journal. Journals are a great way to preserve history and stories. As the year comes to a close, we tend to post what we could view as journal entries, or records as such. My all time favorite holiday posts on RYPN are the annual Christmas card exchanges and the sound recordings from O. Winston Link of the 600 class and the church music playing in the background!

During the year, Starsburg and Wasatch tend to post shop updates or other project updates that always create some good discussion. Also, this year, Mr. Ray has provided some great updates on the 4501 that I have really enjoyed. That said;

This year, Wasatch will be posting our "2013 Year Book." This post will include a review of most of our projects for the year and a small snip-it of history for each project. This year book will remain on RYPN as a journal of sorts and as a history of the year. We at Wasatch also publish an in-house annual report that we do not post publicly. (We do however honor special requests for copies of the report when properly placed.)

It would be really enjoyable to read the "Year Book" of your organization as well this Holiday Season. Many of you work/volunteer for tourist lines, museums or short lines that in some way preserve history. Well, this year, why don't we all make a short record of the physical history we have preserved or created? It is my hope that many of you, including some of our favorites will join in on this project. It will not take long. I have already written the WRC Year Book for 2013. We will post or version in the next two weeks.

Thanks for considering this request for a new tradition at RYPN and also, thank you for considering a new method of preserving some history for all generations. Congratulations to all of you who have preserved history this year in one way or another. I can not wait to read your "Year Book" of events!

Kindly submitted,

The 'Articles" section of RYPN would be an ideal site for posting year books, if it is still possible to post articles there. The most recent article presently listed on RYPN was May 26, 2008.
