The William Fuehring Fund has one purpose, that is to make it easier for younger individuals to become active in the railroad industry. The fund will pay 100% the cost of a candidate to travel and attend the annual RPCA conference, hotel accommodations, attendance at any of the seminars, the annual banquet and any additional activities. To be eligible you must:

Be 19-30 yrs old.
A member of RPCA or any organization that is a member.
Have not previously participated in the program.
Submit an essay on why RPCA should consider them to be part of the program
Submit a completed application no later than December 29th.
Must be able to attend the next scheduled conference in January

The application can be downloaded at http://www.rpca.com/pdfs/fuehringfundapplication.pdf, However, it should be sent to ken@classicrail.com. Additional information is available by calling Ken Bitten at 410-336-1605.

What a great way to remember one of the real leaders in rail history preservation... it seems like it was just yesterday that I first met Bill and Ruth, but obviously it's been much longer than that.

RPCA also provides money to support the NRHS RailCamp Scholarship program.

I received this scholarship for the 2010 convention. Let me tell you, it was well worth the small amount of time and effort on my part! Mr. Bitten took excellent care of me in North Carolina, and I got to meet several big names. This was also the conference where I met Sam Lanter of Grand Canyon Railway, and he was able to help me get started working there.

If you or somebody you know qualifies, do what you must NOW!
