Just received an email reporting the demise of Ed Gerlits, a long time steam and railroad enthusiast and operator of Colorado. He ran the High Country 2 foot gage Railroad for many years, ran special excursions for an invited crowd on the D&SNGRR every year for a long time......the best D&S experience available, a train full of railroaders having a good time. He was involved in the UP steam program and was one of Ed Dickens' mentors, so the torch has been passed to another generation. dave |
