I made my first trip to Cass in 1966. My wife and I visited on our honeymoon in 1970 and returned regularly for years, including a repeat visit on our 40th anniversary. We're looking forward to another visit on our 50th!

Thank you to the person who started this thread. I am one of the founding moderators of the "Casshews" page, and a great deal of what is shared on the page comes from my personal collection of slides and negatives that have been collected over the years (pretty much anything that has "The WV" logo in the corner came from this collection). We also have a great deal of contributions from Richard Sparks (long time editor of MSR&LHA's "The Log Train" quarterly publication; I am the current managing editor), as well as from Bryan Yosten and the other founding moderator, Jonathan Bailess.

This "well" of vintage photographs that I draw from is starting to run a little dry...I now have more non-Cass specific West Virginia photographs than those pertaining to Cass itself. I would like to point out that our page is ALWAYS open to any "new" vintage photo contributions that pertain to railroading in the mountain state!

To say that Jonathan and I are impressed at the growth of the page over the past year would be an understatement. We never figured we'd reach the "100 Likes" milestone within a year's time, let alone be within a stone's throw of 1,000! It is good to know that there are so many other "nuts" out there who enjoy viewing, sharing, and discussing in depth about people, places, events, and equipment from a bygone era. I hope we can keep the page in new photographs for a long time to come. Here's to all "Casshews"!
