FYI, Marion got merged into Bucyrus, who in turn was acquired by CAT. Marion is the outfit who was prime contractor on the transporter for the Saturn rockets. Dave |

I have been thru Marion, Ohio many times when Power Shovel was going strong. The buildings stretched from one end of town to the other end. I also worked for Dresser Industries who aquired Power Shovel in the late '70s. The Space shuttle crawler/transporter was made in Marion, Ohio. Quite impressive when you are up close to the transporter. |
