| Post subject: | Stewartstown Railroad- Car Shop Report for January 2014 |
Since my last posting, we really haven't got much of anything done with the restoration of coach 1341. I led two work days this month, the first one consisted of priming 11 new, oak window sashes, and the accompanying glass-keeper strips. Today (January 25) we got everything scuff sanded and started cutting the strips to length. After the strips are cut we will be pulling the old deteriorated windows out of the coach, to get the catches off and glass out of them. Old glass will be set in place with the keepers, sealed in, then we can begin the actual painting process. Other than the sash painting, nothing else has been happening physically with the coach, mostly due to the extreme cold here in the northeast. I have tried unsuccessfully to post photos here, so if anyone really wants to see them, there are a few on the Railroad's FACEBOOK page. I'm also going to try and get some on www.stewartstownrailroadcompany.com , for those who don't use Facebook. |
