Hello, Does anyone know good references/resources about the preservation of industrial RR bridges, particularly in PA and OH? |

I'm not sure what you are looking for; general information on area bridges can be found at http://www.historicbridges.org/map_penn.php or http://pghbridges.com/articles.htm. PA has a program to sell historic, usually highway bridges, that at one time had a former RR bridge included. Or, are you looking for information to preserve a particular bridge? Most industrial lines were pretty short and I can't think of any with large bridges, except maybe the steel mill shortlines. Nick |

I actually have a shelfload of material in that regard, albeit mostly centered around wooden covered bridges, of which there are less than a dozen rail examples extant in North America. There also exist online resources. If you can get more specific about your needs and challenges, I would be most happy to assist you as best as I can in this regard. Reply here or PM/e-mail me with more specifics as needed. |
