To be more exact to answer Evans question about seats, mostly the gas-mechanical cars were single ended and turned to always operate forward. So, originally his Model-55 more than likely had fixed seats. Typically Brill manufactured their own seats as opposed to purchase from outside source. Their "Winner" style is a reversible seat that is a bit more narrow then a standard coach seat, and was used on their streetcars and light interurban cars, such as the one we operate here in Mt. Dora. Brill called the style of seat the "Winner" due to its size and thus able to cram more passengers in the car. We have found they work great and have held up perfectly. This is why we are using that style as a pattern for our new and restored cars. If anyone is in need of a set of these seats, please let us know for we will be manufacturing 24 seats for a project, we can get the price down with larger order. edrailco@aol.com |

What does your current cost per repro seat work out to? I've seen these seats in various vintage equipment across the country and am curious what a repro costs.....thanks > To be more exact to answer Evans question > about seats, mostly the gas-mechanical cars > were single ended and turned to always > operate forward.
