I know it is April first, but this is the real deal. I got a tweet on Twitter from VMT and Fire Up 611 that 611 is heading to Spencer for overhaul and to join in the Streamliners event. I understand 1218 and 2156 will also accompany her, while a USRA 0-8-0 is being acquired from the Illinois Railway Museum to be cosmetically altered to look like an S-1a in order to round out the museum's N&W collection. That's my contribution to April 1. :-) (Edit- I understand and acknowledge that the original post is true. I only wish my April 1 contribution were true as well!) |

Logistically it makes sense for NS to take N&W 611 along when they ship the Wabash E unit? Wesley |

The Southern E8 6900 is still there in Roanoke as far as I know. It will need to come back to that would be a heck of a consist. |

Yep, it would be a great consist to see 6900, 1009, and 611 go south in one move. I'll know for sure when the "powers that be" want us to switch everything on 24 hrs notice...... |
