According to posts on the LocoNotes and Railcritters Yahoo! groups, Kentucky Utilities at Ghent, Kentucky, has a 45-ton GE (29935, 6/49) that KU is willing to donate to a museum. KU contacts are said to be:

Tim Harrison 502-347-4026

Danny Ayler 502-347-4052 and

Paul Wright 502-347-5467.

Ghent is on the Ohio River, between Louisville and Cincinnati.

Does anyone know anything about the condition of the locomotive? I would be interested for the Southern Forest Heritage Museum, so long as it does not require major repairs to return to operation.

If requested, I might be able to inspect and photograph. Ghent is near me.
