Reminds me of a story of 2 trains probably in Indiana back in some line somewhere, dont recall any line, they stopped at their red signals, the engineers came out and had their little arguement

"Why don't you back up into that siding there and let me thru?"
"What? You've got a smaller train just run back to that passing siding and let me thru!"

and the arguement ensues....dont recall the outcome but one of them backed down and the pass made.

Remember Center Posts? They were on single track midway
between passing sidings. The 1st train to get to the post
had the right of way, and the loser had to back up. If it was
a tie, the locomotive closer to the rails when the dust settled
was the winner.
