Post subject:  Guano Railroad

While surfing the web I found a website about Navassa Island. A hundred years ago or more they were mining guano and built a railway to haul it. There is even a reported death of someone who rode a runaway mine car off a cliff into the ocean. Well some of the tracks are still there. Now this would be a major restoration effort if there ever was one. I am just kidding about that but it is interesting that the track is still there.

Gee Tom,last I knew, guano was bat poop not bird poop.

Any excrement from a flying creature is commonly called guano. Sea birds deposit quite a bit, especially around nesting areas.
