An airport exists, then houses are built nearby, now the the neighbors complain about jet noise...

just go build in the nearest ancient flood plain, then wait for the next big flood...don't worry, it will never come...you think?

It has been known for sometime that Ohio Ry Museum has been on tough times. More so than other museums.

I had a look at the GIS data, and the disputed property is about wide enough for one track, just west of ORM's main track, though there is no track on it. The land is mostly empty but there are what appear to be two boxcars off-track, presumably used for storage, as well as some track materials on the land. The appears to be plenty of room for the fence to be moved to the property line and still clear the main, so the "force ORM to close" statement does not ring true. ORM's property is very narrow and cramped so it is unclear if there is anywhere else to put the boxcars, at least within their fenced yard area.

On the other hand ERJV seems to have plenty of room and in no need for the disputed land. "The amount offered was not sufficient, said Robert Jones, ERJV general manager" Based on this, I suspect it is about money not about doing the right thing for a nonprofit, possibly even gouging the museum because they are in a tight place.
