Looks about as legitimate as the Yellow Ribbon Express.

Compared to the "build a T-1" group, projects like this look totally sane.

Minor point:

The group may be based in Florida, or simply legally incorporated there, but there is nothing in the website that I see with a cursory examination that states WHERE this alleged museum would be located. New York? Pennsylvania? Florida? New Delhi? Canberra?

According to their "About Us" page:
Quote:
The GG1HLPS plans to complete the purchase of the locomotive and arrange to have it relocated to a site in Florida as yet to be determined.

Is this to be one of the passenger locomotives for All Aboard Florida?

This has been in the works for some time. I am uncertain of how a GG1 relates to Florida, unless it is concerned with towing "The Silver Meteor" or "Silver Star", or to relate to a bunch of railroad retirees. Such a museum would seem better acclimated to Delaware or some place along the corridor. OTOH, if there is money and the climate is good (?) another of the old girls will get a permanent home.

Look, they have something with which to start, and some display options. I can't see it holding visitors in the manner of other theme attractions , making Florida a destination. Gotta have more than an H-O scale layout.
