The Valley Railroad will be hosting the Amtrak history train. While the valley Railroad is not an educational not for profit I think this event helps bring history (and visitiors) to the railroad. This goes back to an old topic I posted viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36332 . How maney museums have aproched Amtrak about hosting there trains?

If I recall correctly, Amtrak visited the Strasburg Rail Road a short while back (I want to say it was for National Train Day, but not 100%). I remember a heritage F40 and a Genesis both making their way over Strasburg's rails via the interchange at Leaman Place for a temporary display on service tracks around the station.

Amtrak has also been to Steamtown, Pa. and Spencer, N.C.

It looks like Amtrak has stoped at some railroad museums and is planning to bring its train to a few more. How does this come about do the museumes offer or does Amtrak chose the best railroad attraction in the ariea and ask them?
