Now it's in the media, it's a bit easier to let everyone know what is happening in a shed, hidden in the hills above the city of Adelaide in South Australia. I've had the chance to spend an hour or so looking around what has to be one of the greatest sheds in Australia, around 18 months ago. It was on the way to getting NM25 running again at the Pichi Richi Railway in 2012.

From memory, it's only the headlight and part of the reverser assembly that are 'used', everything else is new build, cast, machined or fabricated.

The idea at the time was to get the loco to a complete rolling frame assembly stage, then for it to be moved to another location for storage which would then allow Glenn the room to build the boiler in the shed, which he will also be doing himself. The locomotive would then be completely assembled and most likely taken to the Pichi Richi Railway (about 4 hrs north of Adelaide) for use there.

So for anyone out there thinking 'that jobs a bit much for just one person', time to put your back into it. It might take a while, but you can achieve a massive amount in time...
