I believe that Percy is a 4-wheel goods wagon, not otherwise specified, who wants to be an A-4 when he grows up. GME |

Unlike most of the other locomotives of Rev. Awdry, Percy is a mish-mash of typical British industrial switching locomotives and hs no specific prototype. http://www.pegnsean.net/~railwayseries/percy.htm Steve |

My teenager and friends who grew up on Thomas have expressed a desire to visit (in November due to schedule) and see Percy. There must be some sort of nostalgia going on here and perhaps a teenage need to cluster together as friends. Moms are also apparently subject to this nostalgia, as they are actively conspiring to fit the trip into very busy schedules and limited budgets. Have any other DOWT activities noticed returning "older" customers? I certainly won't mind scheduling them a lunch ride on one of Strasburg's other venues now that they are old enough to appreciate a more mature environment and to push even more real steam into their blood. Jeff Lisowski wrote: This question still has not been answered, is this rendition of Percy an actual steam locomotive This Percy is not an actual steam engine - just a shell on wheels. Diesel power at the other end of the train, most likely. |

Is the air hose just a pass-through or are there brakes? Brake valve? Steve |
