Hello, I have a one of a kind hand made Hudson locomotive and tender that was hand made from wood back in the 1920's. It was made by a machinist with the Union Pacific in North Platte NE. It is in great detail and the tires and rods mechanism all function. The Locomotive is 28" long by 8 1/2" high by 7" wide. The Tender is 21" long by 8" high by 7" wide. The road name is "Northern Pacific" and the locomotive is numbered NC 2667 A. I understand it was in the Colorado Railroad museum for a number of years. I purchased it because I like trains. My question: Is there anyone who can give me more information about this locomotive like what all the different parts are and how they function. I can send an email with pictures. |

Quite curious in that neither the NP nor the UP had Hudsons. |

If it truly is a model of Northern Pacific 2667, it would be an A3 4-8-4 Northern, not a Hudson |

Nice to see another well built model steam locomotive. Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has a scale live steam model NYC Hudson on display in the waiting room of the Grand Junction depot. IIRC, many years ago a couple of members ran it on compressed air and it was in working order. |

Has anyone ever considered having a full scale Hudson built by Hollywood? Cost a few bucks but way less than an operational replica. |

And speaking of "mini locomotives", how about this 1/12 scale version of #4501 that appeared at Railfest last weekend!
