The restoration of steam locomotive 1702 at Great Smoky Mountains Railroad has made significant progress in recent months, according to the blog site. A restoration shop was completed, the locomotive moved inside, and a project manager was hired for the restoration. The project will be led by Steven D. Jackson of Durango, CO.
