Hello all,

Can anyone tell me what seminars will be offered at this Fall's ATRRM conference?

Thanks,

Check out the ATRRM Web Site. The third page of the "Registration Packet" has the list of seminars and times.

While I won't be at the convention (unfortunately), I'm pleased to see that a number of the seminars (which all look quite interesting) are being repeated. This is really a great idea, as it allows convention attendees to partake of multiple seminars and not miss those that might be of interest.

I hope future ATRRM convention planners keep this idea in mind.

This is a concept that I've seem used at other conferences/conventions. Of recent memory are the Southern Pacific Historical & Technical Society conventions and the Narrow Gauge Conventions. And I've seen other events do the same thing -- like software users' conferences.

As Howard says it allows attendees to have an ability to attend and not miss sessions of interest.

I too hope that ARRRM will continue with this kind of event planning.

I agree that it's nice to see duplication, for example the first two (Attracting young folks and using social media) would certainly seem to appeal to the same group of people. Nice that you can see both of them if you wish.

On a related note, it would certainly be useful for ATRRM to "videotape" (digitally I'm sure) the seminars and make the available on the web to interested parties. Charge a fee, require membership, whatever. I understand that to simply give them away would make folks say "Why go to the convention, I'll just watch at home!". But having the information available, for a reasonable fee, would help disperse it to a wider audience.

I would be interested in going to the convention, but I think would be more likely to go if more seminars were being offered. It's a bit far to travel (VT to TX) for only a few sessions. Not ruling it out though, just less likely to attend.

For the same reason, I agree that making videos of the seminars available to members somewhere online would be wise especially because as many people as possible should be able to take advantage of these seminars. If making them available would really effect conference attendance, then I would think the format of either the conference or the disemination of information would need to be revisited.
