Nice litho of the Chestnut Street station.

I was talking to a contractor recently who was doing work in that area in connection with the new RRTA terminal. He was digging up all kinds of old iron ... Sadly, he didn't know what it was and it went to Sahd's Scrap in Columbia ...

I believe the original "Harrisburg & Lancaster" was the Harrisburg Portsmouth Mount Joy & Lancaster RR.

If you look at modern-day Google Earth images, you can pretty well follow the original alignment through the city of Lancaster, in spite of the fact that much of it has been gone for 80 years or more.

Just today I noticed that the area parallel to Harrisburg Pike where the original line headed into the city from the west will soon be obliterated by new construction.
