Post subject:  Rare mileage and old power

Friends of the 261 and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum have teamed up to offer rare mileage trips with old power on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22. The trips will operate on the now-mothballed LTV mining railroad mainline from Hoyt Lakes, MN, to Taconite Harbor and return. Power for the trips will be Soo Line FP7A 2500, DM&IR SD18 193 and recently donated LTV F9A 4211. Fall colors should be at or near peak and this may be your one and only chance to ride this remote piece of railroad. Additional information and e-tickets are available by visiting the Milwaukee Road 261 website at

www.261.com

Click on the "etickets" tab for access to the information and ticketing information.
