| Post subject: | Big plans for V&T again |
Looks like the big plans for rebuilding the V&T back down to Carson City are back in the news (I first read of it in 1961). Too bad they weren't around with so much enthusiasm to save the CC shops, which should have been the centerpiece of the whole project. On the subject of the CC shops: About the time they were razed, Nevada had a preservation law in process that might have saved them. Was this law ever passed? More interesting discussion on the V&T revival on Altamont Press discussion board. Note one post mentions a bridge made from the Virginia City and Carson City turntables...
