A new exhibition opens today at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. It is called - All Aboard! A Celebration of Walt's trains

Displayed in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall adjacent to the Museum, the exhibition focuses on railroading as a part of Walt's life. From his family connections with the profession of railroading to his own brief career on the Missouri Pacific as a news butcher to trains in short subjects and feature films to his own backyard railroad and those of the theme parks, there is plenty to enjoy for a fan of railroading.
The exhibition also features three operating model railroads, video displays as well as photographs and other graphics (including original artwork) on display. A number of rarely seen artifacts from various collections round out the exhibition. A particular favorite is a set of pin striped overalls and a jacket Walt kept in his apartment above the firehouse on Main Street at Disneyland. He was fond on donning this costume and taking over from the engineers on the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad. Who knows how many guests were treated to a trip around Disneyland on the train with Walt at the throttle.
