Can anyone tell me what kind of engine is in this trackmobile? http://pacificwestsystems.com/1967-trackmobile-5tm/#!prettyPhoto I am working on a similar one but I couldn't figure out the engine. But this is definitely the same engine. But the pictures in this are much more clear then anything I could of taken in that dark corner! |

Gasoline or diesel? It appears Trackmobile used Hercules engines in the gas ones and Detroit Diesels in the diesel ones of that era, later Cummins............ |

Gas The engine is identical to the engine in the link I gave, looks like some distinct features. Intake on the left side, exhaust on the right, distributor is dead center under the exhaust. 6 cyl inline engine. |

Appears to be a Hercules G3000. This engine also came in a diesel version and most of the info I found looking around on the web is related to the diesel versions.
