Can anyone tell me what kind of engine is in this trackmobile?

I am working on a similar one but I couldn't figure out the engine. But this is definitely the same engine. But the pictures in this are much more clear then anything I could of taken in that dark corner!

Gasoline or diesel?

It appears Trackmobile used Hercules engines in the gas ones and Detroit Diesels in the diesel ones of that era, later Cummins............

Gas

The engine is identical to the engine in the link I gave, looks like some distinct features. Intake on the left side, exhaust on the right, distributor is dead center under the exhaust. 6 cyl inline engine.

Appears to be a Hercules G3000. This engine also came in a diesel version and most of the info I found looking around on the web is related to the diesel versions.

Listing for another Trackmobile.

Here is a picture of the diesel version.Note the spot for a distributor for the gas version.
