In case you may have missed the link posted well below this item, John Smatlak has posted some very up to date information and photos of the new Los Angeles harborfront trolley operation on his Railway Preservation Resources website. By clicking on previous links, the whole story of the operation can be read. It's well worth a look. http://www.railwaypreservation.com/Updates4.htm#8/3/02update ryarger@rypn.org |

> In a word ... FANTASTIC! I'll second that. The 1058 really looks gorgeous! I have a question, though (of course). I noticed in the photo below that 1058 has a semicircular anticlimber/bumper. Is that a holdover from its days as a curve-end 950 series car, or is that just another part of the Fellows rebuilding? Frank Hicks ![]() fullparallel@wideopenwest.com |

The 950's did not have such a large platform on the end as the "Tens" did due to the different end configuration. When Richard Fellows rebuilt the 1058, he added the buffer. The anti-climber was added by the Port of Los Angeles to conform with current regulations. Bob Cook BobC19024@aol.com |
