Found these images of an ancient car body in Hardin, Montana. Anyone have the build year for this coach? Images source: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/LocationPh ... l#18344492 |

Not an expert on old wood coaches but this one to me does look ancient? Maybe 1880s? Was in car shop at MC in North Freedom and got a nice tour of EJ&S #2 combine originally built in 1860s, later rebuilt in 1880s. The styling looks similar. If this car could only talk, it be a good story. Thanks for sharing the pic. Regards, John. |

Ok, no definite replies so I'll broaden the question. Does anyone know anything at all about this coach? Or can anyone make a good guess? |

It resembles the drawings of an Emigrant Sleeping Car on the UPRR in the 1888 Cyclopedia. That car measured about 60 feet to the outsides of the drawbars on both ends. Center to center between sets of two windows was 5'11". If these figures make sense, that's a possibility. dave |

It's nice to see another of these field gems moving towards preservation. Recently, across town in Libby, MT (a short 580 miles away) is another one which we discussed on this board. http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35784 |
