Anybody know anything about the Browning steam crane in Vermont? It is supposed to be ex-Central Vermont RR. Later used as a barge mounted pile driver on Lake Champlain. As of 2014 abandoned beside Highway 12 between Northfield and Montpelier.

Hi John, I happen to know the owner, what would you like to know? Also it has been moved since that photo was taken.

Hi Stephen, If the crane is ex-Central Vermont RR what was its number? What is its builder's number? Who used it as a piledriver? I have five Browning cranes used in Vermont.

1404 #5 DT 1916 Central Vermont RR St. Albans, VT
1706 #5 DT 1918 Central Vermont RR St. Albans, VT
2305 #8 DT 1925 Lake Champlain Transportation Burlington, VT
4202 ML-200 1953 Grand Trunk Western RR Albans, VT
4345 DE-300 30t 1956 Grand Trunk Western Ry #50395 Island Pond, VT
Canadian National Ry #50395

The last two were diesel so they are out of the running.
