I am searching for any info on the current location of this Caboose, and if possible the current condition. The last known location was the Port of Redwood City, CA.in the late 1990's I believe. Thanks, OT Local |

In his book Captive Cabeese in America (2000), Roger Kirkpatrick places this caboose in/near Ririe, Idaho (just east of Idaho Falls) and having come from Port of Redwood City, California. There is another caboose listed in Ririe as being UP 25144 located on a farm off of road 126 (26?). Whether these two have a common owner is a likely possibility but unknown to me. Thanks, I did hear about it being in Ririe,and I asked a friend of mine, last summer while on vacation in the area, to see if he go there, and ask the Locals about the SSW 31.The only one they knew of was the UP Caboose you mentioned. It was missing it's trucks and in rather poor condition. Ririe, is a really small town, and upon investigation, and asking several of the locals, the UP Caboose was the only one they knew of, and the only one he could find. I do think at one time it was there. Maybe I can see if I can get in touch with the Farmer who has the UP Caboose, he may know something about it, if nothing else shows up here.
