General Electric locomotive models U25 and U28 were equipped with a wheel slip panel (17FM190A) that activated a valve (SSBV) which caused a quick application and release of the locomotive independent brake during wheel slip. The SSBV valve was part of the 26-L brake system applied to these locomotives. Does anyone on the list have an air brake piping diagram for early GE's that shows the SSBV? I would gladly pay a reasonable amount for a copy. I have operators manuals for these locomotives and while they do show some of the parts, they do not have piping diagrams. I would also be interested in a copy of that, if it surfaces. I don't have much info from that late time period,but I'd offer to trade you for the copy. I might have something in a WABCO 26-L booklet that could be useful to the poster and to whomever replies, just ask and I'll see if I can dig something up that you can use. Loco112 |

Howard, is this what you need? The air brake piping diagram can be found on in section AE-1 of the U25B Instruction Manual. You can find it on the Cascade Rail Foundation archive website here: http://www.pnrarchive.org/sites/CRF/U25 ... Items.aspx The other sections of the air equipment tab are there too.
