Post subject:  Fletcher Quarry tour

Fletcher Quarry is a granite operation northwest of Boston, producing mostly curbstones. It has been seen on the This Old House series. They have an internal SG rail line for moving the big blocks, using a GE diesel; that trackage is now being reconnected to the former B&M main line. I did not realize it, but they offer a free train ride into the quarry as part of their tour. This is the quarry where the former B&M 0-6-0s at Lowell, MA and Dunkirk, NY came from.
