Knorr Air pumps

Hi All,

Can anyone direct me to a web site or book about German built Knorr compound air compressors?

Further to or failing that, does anyone know how to verify the capacity of this type of pump?

Those Knor pumps have the same check valves and shuttle valve covers as the WABCO Australasia steam driven air compressors, which makes me think they were built using the WABCO drawings. It appears that the parts and pieces should interchange between the two companies pumps.

That lower water pump addition, to the standard 10 +5/8" single Australasia pump, shown in Martin Banes literature, might be a Knor designed piece, but the pump itself is all WABCO in design.

In the West we had the 9.5" and the 11" single cylinder compressors, and neither was what New Zealand, Australia, and Asia really needed, so WABCO Australasia designed the 10+5/8 single, as a replacement for both. It can be found on all the Australia and NZ equipment.

Australasia also built a smaller cross compound pump called the 90, (for 90 cu ft per minute) , that is mirror image (reversed) of our big 8+1/2 x 120/150 compressors, it can be seen also on the AUS NZ equipment.
