Post subject:  Need Alco 539,244 Parts Manual

Midwest Railway Preservation Society in Cleveland has received about 4 or 5 tons of NOS Alco engine and electrical parts and we need to catalog them. Does anyone know of an Alco 539 or 244 Engine Parts Manual that is available on line? So far we have 18 pistons, two connecting rods, about 70 intake and exhaust valves with four different part numbers, 40 valve seats, 24 valve guides, a turbo fan and ring, a water pump main gear, crank shaft main bearings, and other smaller bearings in sets, One large item is a cylinder sleeve outer piece that is the water jacket and I truly hope that no one needs that piece after all of the sub-zero weather that we have been having lately. There are many injector nozzles, although some of them may be used. There is a large pallet box full of electrical parts including relays. contactors, and switch block contact point sets. Many of the parts have Alco/GE catalog numbers on them, some are marked "For 244 engine". MRPS owns an operable RS3 and we will be keeping some parts for that.
