Westinghouse gauge fittings

Replacing my broke air gauges with some that are in better shape, my old gauges were 3/8" pipe and the new ones are 1/2" compression fittings. I've been to many fitting outfits and no one can help in finding me an adapter? Any help would be great!

Can you post a photo of the new gauge? Often the gauge will be piped with copper tubing and
compression (or flare) type fittings, but there is an adapter and the "native" thread of the gauge
is NPT. The older style with threaded copper pipe (not tubing) used a small internally threaded
washer that goes on the end of the gauge pipe, with the 'union nut' being a NPS straight thread
that can screw directly onto the NPT thread of the gauge body with a gasket washer for sealing.

Well I just heard back from McMaster and they said they could not help me, so back to the drawing board.
One place I checked they said the treads on my gauge is 11/16-20 which I need in female and the othe end for the adapter would be male 3/8 pipe.
This is the pic of the new gauge I will be using.

Have you tried to contact Strasburg Railroad maybe they can be of some help , just a suggestion .

A half hour on the lathe with a bit of scrap brass and you can make any adapter you want. Alternatively, you can drill out the center hole in the stub and thread it female 1/8 NPT, and buy an off the shelf 1/4" copper flare to 1/8 NPT fitting at Home Depot.

See if Anderson Metals is still in business, 1-800-821-5672. Their catalog, under "Brass Fittings for Copper Air Brake Systems" listed a type 68AB Part # 00368-806. It's a 1/2" (OD Tubing Size which uses a 11/16-20 UN thread) compression to 3/8" NPT connector.

That part would require you to run a compression fitting off the gauge to a piece of copper tube then another compression fitting to the connector,

If it were my rig, I might just use a new compression fitting to a short piece of copper - braze a union onto the copper line and thread the other half of the union onto the pipe.
